Courtney Knopps, Practice Manager

I have been around animals my whole life so joining the Grass Lake Animal Hospital team in 2013 was the perfect fit for me. I can't remember a time when I didn't have pets, ranging from cats to bunnies to lizards. My grandpa was a dairy farmer so I also spent a great deal of time on his farm when I was younger, enjoying the outdoors and learning about his trade. I live in Grass Lake with my two cats, Murphy Bean and Ophelia, both of which are rescues. I'm the crazy cat lady (but yes, I also LOVE dogs), and if you don't believe me, my whole bathroom is decorated in cats. If I'm not here you can usually find me with family or friends. I have two nephews, Henry and Jacob who are my world. I also enjoy reading, football (Go Pack Go!), and riding my motorcycle.

Rachel Munoz-Ross, LVT

Hello, I'm Rachel. I am a graduate of Statzenberger College of Maumee OH, with an Associates Degree in Applied Science. I obtained my license in Veterinary Technology in 2016 and started working at a multi-doctor general practice in Adrian, Mi. After moving to the area I began looking to transfer to a dental specialty practice and that is how I moved to Grass Lake Animal Hospital. I am excited to be able to work with animals everyday and I'm very passionate about patient and client care. When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband Jeremy, my teenagers Madison and Gavin, and my 5 dogs and 2 cats.

Mary Ortiz, LVT

Hi! I have been in veterinary medicine for 20 years and have been a licensed veterinary technician for 18 years. I am married to my childhood sweetheart and we have a 7 year old pitbull named Gunny and a 20 year old green iguana name Jabberwocky. When not caring for your pets, I enjoy being outdoors and reading a good book.

Emily McLean, Receptionist

I’ve always loved animals and have been passionate about their welfare and health. After working in the tax & accounting industry for 6+ years, I decided to follow my passion and enrolled in the Veterinary Assistant Program at Animal Behavior College. Shortly after, I joined the Grass Lake Animal Hospital team. This career change has been amazing and I truly found the best place to work. I love having a job that I love doing and I love meeting you and your fur babies! When not working, I can usually be found at home in Saline with my husband, Scott, and our baby [feline] girl, Izzy. She is the center of our lives!
